NOTE: Registration is now closed!

PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE DOCUMENT BEFORE YOU REGISTER.  It contains valuable information about the school, registration, and the rules of the day. Forms mentioned in this text are immediately available via the links; however, all of them are available as a group when you go to the download page.

THIS IS NOT A RACING SCHOOL. Our Driving School mission is to improve your driving skills while having fun. Our goal is to teach you safe driving skills and habits in a controlled situation. We hope what you learn will benefit you in your normal day-to-day driving, especially when confronted with emergency situations. We will emphasize the relationship of the driver and vehicle, how to make them function in unison, and give you the opportunity to learn your limitations and expand your capabilities. Student drivers must be at least 18 years old and will be required to show a valid driver's license.

VEHICLE SAFETY INSPECTION - A shortage of time, equipment and people does not permit adequate vehicle safety inspection the day of the school. Therefore, all participating vehicles must be inspected BEFORE the day of the school. A qualified individual who is familiar with the make and model of your car must complete the Technical Inspection Form. Refer back to the general information page for free inspection options. This inspection form must be presented to the driving school staff at the event site on the day of the driving school. No vehicle will be allowed on the track without a completed and signed form. Each vehicle will be inspected for obvious defects, but the ULTIMATE BURDEN FOR SAFETY IS YOURS. We recommend that you have a FULL inspection performed at the facility of your choice.  We regret that convertibles and cars with removable tops are not allowed at the driving school unless they have a racing type roll cage which has been pre-approved by the safety steward. Factory pop-up type bars are not acceptable. The following are not permitted at the Driving School: Convertibles without rollbars, cars with removable tops (some targas ok), trucks, pickups, vans and SUVs other than the BMW X5, X3, X6 and Porsche Cayenne. Contact the Chief of Safety for specific car eligibility. Are you sure you and your car are safe to drive at speed over an extended period?

DRIVING SCHOOL - To maximize your track time and insure you get adequate instruction, the event is run on a tight schedule. Adherence to the schedule requires your cooperation and will allow us to get through the preliminaries quickly. You must arrive at the track no later than 6:45 AM. You must stop at the gate and check-in. ALL individuals entering the track property must sign the Release and Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement. You must read it carefully and understand what you are signing. You can preview the waiver by clicking the link above to download a copy from this website.  We also recommend that you show and discuss the waiver with your spouse.  Minors are allowed in the facility, but a parent or guardian must sign a minor's waiver form on their behalf at the track, or it may be signed in advance if notarized. You should then proceed immediately to the paddock area, and unload everything from your car and trunk. Please remove floor mats, loose change and everything that is not firmly attached. A properly secured spare tire may remain in the car if you choose. Be ready for the 8 AM drivers' meeting. This is the most important meeting of the day! Make sure you arrive with a full tank of gas. Air and water are available at the track, but not fuel. Lunch will be available from the snack bar. Please note that you will not have enough time to go out for lunch. We recommend you bring folding chairs, hat, sunscreen, warm clothes and plenty of water to drink.

Saturday is limited to about 66 student drivers and Sunday is limited to 40. When the school fills, a few subsequent registrants are put on a waiting list. Wait list registrants who do not get into the school will be refunded their full registration fee by check.

SAFETY - Safety is our first priority. Students and instructors are required to wear a Snell 2000 or Snell 2005 certified helmet while on the track. Both Snell motorcycle (M) and auto racing (SA) certifications are acceptable. Bring a helmet even if you have to borrow one. A limited number of helmets can be rented for $15 at the school, but we can not guarantee their availability. If you plan to buy a helmet, read Bell Helmet's How to Fit Guide first. Cars, drivers and instructors judged to be operating in an unsafe manner will be removed from the track and no refunds will be given. No glass beverage containers are permitted at any time. No alcoholic beverages are permitted on the premises while cars are on the track.

CLASSING AND INSTRUCTORS - Students are assigned to one of four run groups (A, B, C or D) commensurate with their experience. Instructor supervision is required at all times while you are on the track.

LIABILITY/INSURANCE - STUDENTS ASSUME ALL RISK OF DAMAGE TO PERSONS AND PROPERTY DURING THE EVENT. This includes times when instructors are driving your car. Your auto insurance policy most likely does not provide any coverage for this event. While we have had only two minor damage incidents, and no injuries in the last decade, this is a high speed event with inherent risks. Since you are assuming the risk, you should be satisfied with the manner in which your instructor drives your car. If, after discussing any apprehensions you may have with the instructor, you are still not satisfied, you are encouraged to contact the Chief Instructor or any event staff member to address the issue.

MEDICAL INFORMATION - Please complete the medical information form that will be available to the on-site medical personnel in case of an emergency. Please fold the form in thirds, tape and write your name on one end for quick access. We do not read these forms -- they are for emergency use only, and are shredded after the event. Separately from this form, you are required to inform us of any condition that might impair your ability to perform the tasks expected of a student in this school, impede your ability to communicate with your instructor, or that would impair your ability to exit the vehicle in case of an incident. If you are pregnant, we require the approval of your physician and that your spouse also sign a waiver.

PASSENGERS - Students are NOT allowed to take passengers on the track at any time -- absolutely no exceptions. Only registered students and instructors are allowed to drive on the track. During the instructors' sessions, instructors may take passengers who have signed the waiver release, wear a helmet and are at least 18 years of age.

TO AND FROM THE TRACK - We ask you to drive slowly and safely. Remember, everything you learn at the driving school must be applied within the law while on public roads.

WEATHER - The driving school will be run rain, snow or shine. Be sure you come prepared to protect yourself from the sun and the occasional rain/snow.

MANUALS, MAPS, FORMS - These can be downloaded from the chapter web site. Some forms will be required to be turned in at track registration to participate in the school (tech inspection form, medical form). Adult waiver forms are signed at the track entrance.  Returning students must bring their student log book from prior Rocky Mountain Chapter driving schools.

BMW CCA MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED - Every participant must be a member of BMW CCA. Therefore, the non-member price includes a 1 year membership. In the case of a full event, registration priority relative to the waitlist is determined by the date and time when both your online registration is completed and your payment has been received.

REFUNDS/CANCELLATION - Cancellations on or before Sept 19th will be refunded $150 per driver per day by a check sent in the mail. There are NO refunds for cancellations after that date, for unsafe vehicles at the track, or for drivers removed from the school for unsafe driving.  To cancel, login, click "My Events", click "change" then click the "Cancel Me" link. When you cancel, email the registrar, Leslie Jenkins, at dsinfo@rmcbmwcca.org.  Jenkins.

DOWNLOADING FORMS - If you have not already done so, be sure to visit the download page to access and print the required forms and the Driving School Manual.  Many of these are required reading or require action on your part before the school!

PROCEEDING TO REGISTER - We ask your cooperation in making this a safe, informative, and fun event. Relax and enjoy the experience. We look forward to seeing you at Pueblo Motorsports Park.
