The Vail Automotive Classic
September 17 - September 19
Looking for a great way to get into the mountains with other BMW and car enthusiasts? Checkout the Vail Automotive Classic. This is a non-club sponsored event, but many of our members including Jim Flint (host of many Bimmer Burger Nights) are big supporters of the event. Registration info can be found here.
Mark your calendar for this weekend. We all had a great time 2 years ago driving to Steamboat Springs and back to Vail.
We had about 15 BMW’s last time so let’s go for 20 this year!
Like the brochure says the hotels are filling fast.
Any questions, call or email me.
Here’s the rundown from their website:
“12th Annual Show
Building on eleven years of success, we are designing another great event. New details and variations are in the works.
Friday – September 17
Barrett-Jackson Mountain Road Tour
A drive from Vail to Steamboat Springs following a route we carefully curate to maximize fun driving and beautiful scenery. We will take a break for a catered picnic and camaraderie in Steamboat Springs. Following lunch we proceed back to Vail by a different route. Some drivers may opt to spend some time exploring Steamboat Springs and make their way back to Vail on their own schedule. Drivers select their group based on vehicle types and driving styles; some may prefer a “spirited” drive while others prefer a more leisurely pace. (Registration Required)
CARS AND COCKTAILS
Light hors Doeuvres and cash bar at The Sonnenalp Hotel (Registration Required)
Saturday- September 18
Cars & Coffee at the base of Vail Mountain’s Gondola 1. This is a scenic venue on the lawn. Friends and new friends gather to enjoy cars, camaraderie and coffee. Open to the first 90 cars. Some may take this time to plan a casual afternoon drive. Some car clubs may plan their own afternoon activities. (Registration Required)
Sunday- September 19
The Vail Automotive Classic Concours and Show. Cars will fill the streets of Lionshead Village and the Vail Base area near the Eagle Bahn Gondola. Enter your car to be judged or enter it for display (we won’t judge!). This is your opportunity to compete and to show off your pride and joy as we welcome spectators to circulate.
Public welcome 8:30am – 3:00pm – no charge“
