September 19, 2020 @ 7:00 am - 4:00 pm
On Saturday Sept 19, the RMC BMW Club is proud and delighted to be holding our first Women’s Autocross. Our women drivers are integral to the success of each of our events from serving as officers on the board, performing key worker assignments and offering friendly but fierce competition and this year we’re having a day all of our own. No matter your experience, technical car knowledge or goals for the event, all women are welcome on a relaxed day for women by women – a rare opportunity for a heavily male attended activity. Come see what the sport is all about, learn what your car can do in a safe driving environment, ask all the questions you want and be supported, included and challenged by our community of brand new thru nationally ranked women autocrossers – don’t be shy!
What you can drive:
Any car in good mechanical condition can be driven and all makes and models are welcome.
What you need to bring:
A Snell rated helmet is required but we do have a limited number of carefully cleaned helmets available for rental for this event.
A mask, hand sanitizer and/or sanitizing wipes and a pair of gloves.
Enough water for the day, sunscreen and enthusiasm!
$50 for BMW CCA Members
$75 for non-members
A boxed lunch (please alert us of any dietary restrictions via e-mail to [email protected])
A special event ‘swag bag’
A non-member registration fee includes a discount 1 year membership so you will be eligible to sign up for the autocross event being held on Sunday or events next season.
Course design, event set up and corner workers thanks to our supportive male volunteers.
When and where:
Drivers should be on site by 8:00 am and events typically finish around 2-3:00 in the afternoon. Weather permitting we will celebrate with refreshments and awards at the end of the day.
The event will be held on a big tie-down/parking lot just east of the Colorado Air and Space Port, formerly Front Range Airport in Watkins, CO.
The fine print:
We are taking every reasonable precaution to run a safe and responsible event in the time of Covid. While the nature of our outdoor event reduces our risk of transmission we do ask that you respect and follow the precautions we’ve developed throughout the year. Masks are not required while in your car but are to be properly worn when in grid or otherwise near or interacting with other people such as during check-in, on course walks and gathering for announcements. If you disrespect other people’s health and welfare, you will be asked to leave. Most importantly do not show up if you are sick – in any way. We will be flexible on cancellation refunds if you send us an e-mail or contact us before check-in closes (except for Non-Member membership fees).
For additional general autocross information regarding car registration and classing, directions to the site and event rules please visit the autocross tab of RMCBMWCCA.org website.
Looking forward to meeting new drivers, seeing familiar faces and gridding up with the ladies!
